It's important to remember that life's challenges aren't punishments, nor are they always the results of negative mindset.  Being in the world means that we will inevitably be confronted with challenges, but each of these are an opportunity for growth.  Rather than get bogged down by hard times, or upset that they're happening despite your efforts to stay positive, ask the universe 'What positive lessons can I learn from this experience?'.
